A new trailer for early access hit VR Skater has kickflipped its way into the Future Games Show Summer Showcase Powered by Intel.
Released into early access on April 2021, VR Skater is an impressively detailed skateboarding simulator that won't leave you with cuts and scrapes all over. With an arcade twist, you can hit the streets and perfect a wide range of tricks, from simple jumps and flips to long-range grinds and detailed combos.
To guide you through those tricks, you'll be taught the basics of flips, grabs, grinds, slides, and manuals. Combo'd together using the same hand movements that a skilled skater would expect to do with their feet on a real board, you'll be racking up high scores in no time.
The new trailer shows off how those tricks will look in virtual reality. It'll also let you see how those wipeouts will feel, but rest assured even the most gnarly-looking crash won't leave you in the Emergency Room this time around. You'll pull off a few Tony Hawk Pro Skater-level tricks (after a bit of practice), but falling off is simply a case of getting back on the board and trying again.
VR Skater is available for PC VR via Steam, as well as on PSVR 2. It's currently in early access, with an upcoming full release date. Until then, expect updates every four to eight weeks.
