C-Smash VRS, the virtual reality reimagining of the classic Sega arcade game, just got a new trailer at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase Powered by Intel.
C-Smash VRS started life in 2001 as a Sega arcade cabinet, under a very slightly different name - Cosmic Smash. A few months later it made its way to Sega Dreamcast console, but now, more than two decades later, it's finally back. C-Smash VRS' unique combination of racket sports and another classic arcade game, Breakout, has made its way to PSVR 2.
A new trailer, released as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, shows off some of how that unlikely blend of activities merge together, as well as just how far the game has evolved since its arcade beginnings. Set within an appropriately retro sci-fi arena, you'll get a look at the multiple ways you can play, either on your own or with a friend. Stimulating yet simultaneously relaxing, the pulsating soundtrack creates a genuine sense of synaesthesia.
A demo is available via PlayStation's new VR console right now. That means you can try the game out for yourself, getting a bit of extra practice in before C-Smash VRS gets its full release on June 23. With solo, co-op, and versus modes, there are plenty of ways to play to ensure that you can get to grips with this fascinating game at your own pace, and with the new trailer, you can make sure you're ready to go in time for release later this month.
